We are all trying to find ways to relate.
This is a reflection to open up a moment for connection.
(LAMENTATIONS 1)
A world surrounded by a lurking presence one cannot see
A martyr to social distancing in “Quarantine”
No physical affection to hold, only solace to partner with isolation
Friends love from afar; their words dissipate once it hits hibernation
Piece by piece time goes on trying to figure out how to kill time
It’s only temporary, a place to call home not really mine
Humility served on a plate in large quantity
Holding your breath in anticipation until it leaves
A time to mourn, a time to love, and a time to reflect
Reflect on your blessings, reflect on what you have left
Cherish your moments, a time to rest
To wait diligently during this simple test
Discover new abilities, new creatives, and new possibilities
Remembering gifts you were blessed to receive
Some deepen in worse conditions, some are lonelier than the sane
Your words are a breath of fresh air, employ to heal the pain
Your arrogance, your identity, not a reason for self-adoration
A time to learn, a time to restore, and time for compassion
